Description

Paragon is looking for a talented Senior Level RF Engineer to support the Advanced Programs Division, AFLCMC/EBS. Their mission is to develop, test, acquire, modernize, integrate and support affordable and sustainable advanced, high-impact special program armament technologies and capabilities to meet warfighter requirements – Air Force (AF), Joint Service (JS) and Special Operations Forces (SOF) – including highly-classified, high-payoff air-to-air and air-to-ground technologies, hard target defeat, asymmetric and directed energy weapons and targeting and battle damage assessment.  Paragon Solutions supports more than a half dozen programs with engineering services to help the Armament Directorate with their mission.

Responsibilities

RF Engineer Responsibilities:

  • — Serves as the primary source for information and analysis on radar systems and sub-components. In particular, serves as the primary focal point for radar modeling and simulation data and interprets/analyzes the data to support future USAF acquisition projects. Provides recommendations to decision-makers on the capabilities of new or existing systems to meet USAF needs based on modeling and simulation.
  • — Develops computer scripts to perform daily modeling and simulation tasks and resolve code errors as needed
  • — Assists in the review of technical materials within the IPT to determine the validity of the modeling tools being used
  • — Provides technical recommendations on the capabilities and limitations of the models in the intended use environment
  • — Provides support to other IPTs within the center to ensure overall system requirements are being met. Consult with other Subject Matter Experts on the capabilities and limitations with respect to the use of modeling and simulation to meet performance requirements at the systems level.
  • — Independently identify cost, schedule, and performance risk associated with the modeling and simulation of radar systems for various programs. Provide insight to key decision-makers of the overall utilization of a given model to meet performance requirements.
  • — Performs various administrative, financial and clerical duties to support the modeling and simulation IPT (such as scheduling meetings, coordinating special projects, submitting reports, creating procedures and/or manuals for essential functions to operate various models and/or simulations)
Qualifications

 What you will need as a RF Engineer:

  • — BS/BA + 25 years of relevant experience OR MS/MA + 15 years of relevant experience
  • — Active Secret clearance (updated within the last 6 years)
  • — Must have a solid understanding of and experience with MBSE concepts and applications, using SysML tools to model detailed design and requirements for advanced weapons systems
  • — Must be able to function at the layers of SysML models including Software, Hardware, Firmware, and Electrical design and requirements MBSE abstractions
  • — Approximately 20% travel required. Must be able to rent/operate rental cars while on travel
  • — Effective communication skills both orally and in writing
  • — Must be a US Citizen

RF Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

  • — MS in Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 15+ years of relevant experience; OR Ph.D. and 5+ years relevant experience
  • — RF Engineer with acquisition and/or system performance assessment experience preferred; M&S experience ideal
  • — Able to learn, use and/or learn new computer languages (e.g. Python), as needed
  • — Active Secret clearance (within last 6 years)
  • — US Citizen
  • — Effective communication skills both orally and in writing
  • — Must be able to work varied/flexible hours as required
  • — Must be willing/able to travel as needed (approx. 25%) and able to rent/operate rental cars
